‚Provision of Social Services in Bulgaria and Romania’ Conference


The Open Society Institute – Sofia and the Euroregional Center for Democracy from Timișoara will organize the final conference of ‘The Next Mile of the European Civil Society Infrastructure (Boosting the the potential of Bulgarian and Romanian Civil Society Organizations to improve the Social Environment)’ project on December 13, 2007. The event will start at 10.00am at Siqua Hotel in București (Calea Plevnei nr. 59A, sector 1).

The theme of the conference is “Provision of Social Services in Bulgaria and Romania – Partnership between NGOs and Local Authorities”.

The guests are representatives of institutions and organisations from Romania and Bulgaria who provide social services – local and central authorities, non-governmental organisations, etc.

Presentations and discussions will be in Romanian and Bulgarian. Translation will be provided by the organizers.

‘The Next Mile’ project has been implemented in Romania and Bulgaria since January 2006, with the financial support of the European Comission under Networking Programme – Civil Society Component – Romania and Bulgaria. The project aims to strenghten the role of Bulgarian and Romanian Third Sector in improving social environment by improved institutional capacity of CSOs and stimulation of new forms of cooperation within and among them.
