This ICT Infrastructure and E-readiness initiative will build upon earlier efforts by infoDev (such as the Y2K initiative) to help developing countries evaluate their information infrastructures. Grant-funded activities should be completed within six to eight months of the awarding of the grant.

Charity Know How Grant Program
www.allavida.org/charityknowhow/

There will be two Charity Know How (CKH) grants rounds in 2002, with deadlines on 26 February and 27 August 2002

The following information should be read in conjunction with the CKH guidelines already published on the website. In addition to the criteria listed in those guidelines, CKH would particularly welcome applications, which address the following:

- Innovative projects with new approaches to problems- Cross-border partnerships within the four priority sub-regions listed on page five of the guidelines (i.e. Balkans and Carpathians; Caucasus; Central Asia; Western CIS).
- Partnerships where skills and 'know-how' are transferred from larger, more experienced NGOs to smaller, grass-roots, community-based organizations, which would otherwise have limited access to funding. In such cases, we will accept applications from partners in one country.
- Sustainable partnerships, which involve a longer-term engagement between the organizations, rather than a short-term partnership, which exists for the terms of the project only.
