High School Students from the Timis County Rural Areas Promoters of European Union Institutions, 2004 - 2005

Objective
To inform the citizens from five pre-identified rural communities (Dudestii Vechi, Peciu Nou, Nadrag, Periam, Biled), with the support of trained multipliers (teachers and high-school students), on structure and functioning of the EU institutions.

Outcome
Training of the five working groups (one teacher and five high-school students/locality) regarding the structure and functioning of EU institutions
Building, by each working group, of an information strategy for citizens regarding the structure and functioning of EU institutions
Carrying out events such as: ‘Stars for you’ (Theoretical High School Dudestii Vechi), ‘Are you European?’ (Theoretical High School Periam), Ball for Romania’s Entry in the EU, Competition of drawing on asphalt and ‘Flags Contest’ (School Group ‘Traian Grozavescu’ Nadrag)
Simultaneous implementation of information campaigns by the trained working groups in each of the five pilot localities with support and expertise from the Euroregional Center for Democracy
Evaluation and dissemination of the local campaign results.
